A Modern Living Room

livingrmThis modern living room in an exclusive new development in Bath has modern furniture throughout. Our customer selected this Turkish Tokat rug to bring out the colour of the dark sofa whilst creating a contrast that gives the room a certain je ne sais quoi. The orange/red border picks up the colour of the bookcase. The rug, which cost around £800, creates a focal point in a tastefully furnished space that might otherwise have lacked a certain zest.

A Modern Office

officereOriental rugs are such a wonderful tool for interior design because they lend themselves so well to combinations of old and new, especially in the modern office. The veneered furniture and fittings of this spacious reception area in an office in North London are wonderfully enhanced by two splendid rugs: a large Persian pure silk Qum (left) and a Chinese Royalty.

In Barbados

orbintr2The centrepiece of this traditionally furnished room in Barbados is an extra large, pure silk Turkish Hereke, which we located after an extensive search. The rug unifies the decor - created by a professional interior designer - in colour, tone and pattern between the two delicately patterned sofas.

The up-market Herekes we supply are exceptionally fine in weave and contain literally millions of knots, giving them an extraordinary subtlety and density of pattern.

A Contemporary Look

bangolufsenOriental rugs, like this Kashguli, can be startlingly contemporary. Bang and Olufsen of Bath, who are renowned for their cutting-edge hi-fi and TV systems, demonstrate how effectively a rug hand-woven by a nomadic tribe in southern Iran combines traditional quality with a radically modern look.
