Nenaj

Nenaj carpets are amongst the most impressive of the village weaves from NW Iran. The glossy, very durable wool pile is thickly tufted into a cotton foundation to give a very lush feel underfoot. The allover floral repeating medallions give a simple complexity which is very eye catching without too being dominant. The background is invariably dark blue, occasionally red, with deep red to terracotta, greens, yellows and white highlighting the design. Excellent for dining-rooms due to the practical and hard-wearing knap.
