Old Mahal Carpet

This carpet from the Sarouk district of north-west Iran is a very pleasing combination of design and colour. The soft medium rose, cream and dark blue is the classic combination of carpets of this type. Although not a fine carpet, this Mahal, like many of its weave, has a simple unfussy floral design. Mahal carpets are usually of room-size and bigger.
