Kashguli carpet

Kashguli rugs are made in the Fars province of South Iran by nomadic and semi-nomadic peoples using traditional colours and designs. They are very finely woven using close knotting and a thick nap in a high quality, lustruous wool. These rugs, which are made by small family groups, are very modern looking, yet based on traditional designs. They capture the classic look by using natural dyes on a very fine quality lustrous wool pile, as in this multi-coloured series of stripes on a mushroom background. | |||||||||
