Underlay

We strongly recommend supporting and nourishing your oriental rugs by placing them on underlay, cut about 10 cm short of every edge of the rug.

The main reasons:

1. Underlay will stop your rugs sliding about on your hardwood or stone floors;
2. Underlay makes your rugs much more resilient to daily wear and tear - helping to absorb the tensions your feet put on their warp and weft;
3. Underlay adds considerably to the sound proofing and absorbing qualities of your rugs, both for those on floors below and in the same room.
