Gabbeh rugs are known for their primitive patterns, hand-knotted by nomads and semi-nomadic members of the Kashgai tribe in south-west Persia. They have a very simple design, often featuring small animals and other figures on the background. Dark green backgorund, the colour variation is beautiful - a sign of hand-dyed wool. Hand knotted with 100% pure wool pile, warp and weft, their course knotting gives a thick pile and a heavy construction.
